SC 22 Highlights

2022

We recently returned from our trip to Dallas, TX to participate and attend SC22. SC22 is one of the largest high performance computing conferences in the world and it was amazing to be able to attend. Some highlights from the week are below.

Jaydon Reap was selected to join sixteen other students and help directly with SCiNet. The networking team behind SC. He worked with the fiber team and worked to deploy the backbone infrastructure for the conference network. Jaydon worked directly in one of the Distributed Network Operations Centers (DNOCs) and helped provide internet connectivity to booths in the exhibit floor.

Kristina Holsapple was invited as a student volunteer to support operations at the conference. She helped with critical AV and logistics in the conference rooms where trainings, presentations and workshops would take place.

The OpenACC V&V project published and had their paper accepted at the conference. Aaron Jarmusch won 3rd place in the ACM Student Poster Competition for a presentation on the project and complier implementation progress for the latest OpenACC specifications. Aaron Jarmusch and Aaron Liu from the team are center in the photo below at the awards ceremony.

The ECP SOLLVE V&V project published and had their paper accepted at the conference. Their research poster was also put on display during the conference. Below Nolan Baker and Nikhil Rao from the team are presenting their poster on opening day for conference attendees.

Overall the conference was a great experience with CRPL represented throughout the conference. That said, while there was plenty of work to be done we still made time to have some fun!
